Yealimi Noh Reacts to Her Opening Round

Hear from Yealimi Noh after her first round at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Q. Yealimi Noh is with us now at the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Yealimi, nice opening round for you. What went well?

YEALIMI NOH: I hit it really solid today. My putting was really good. Had a lot of good feels around the green. Just played really consistently well and fought through the heat.

Q. Talking about the fight, I mean what would be dealing with the conditions today and what was your mental attitude for it, no?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, it was a battle the whole day. I think like cooled down coming down the stretch, but I just stayed hydrated, stayed -- try to stay out of the sun, keep my umbrella up, and just get through the day.

Q. Is it as difficult as you thought it would be during the practice rounds? Is it harder?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, the front nine, actually the whole round my head was hurting from the heat and all. Just tried to do the best I could with hydrating, just staying in the moment with golf.

Q. What about being in contention? Is that a comfortable place for you? Does it make any difference?

YEALIMI NOH: I don't know. I think it's the first day so just putting myself in a good position and setting a tone for the championship is really nice. Hopefully continues to go well.

Q. The length of the round, were you able to stay in whatever rhythm you needed to be in?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, there was a lot of waiting, especially coming down the stretch. We had like four groups on one tee for hole 8, and so just staying loose, doing a lot of practice swings in between waiting.

Yeah, also like in a way kind of nice to just sit down for a little bit, take a breather.

Q. Find any shade out from?

YEALIMI NOH: My umbrella was the only shade out there.
