Hear from Chisato Iwai after her first round at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
Q. Chisato Iwai is with us now at the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. What are your thoughts on your opening round?
CHISATO IWAI: Yeah, first six hole, so a little bit nervous and every shot left, left, left, left. Oh, my God, so nervous.
But back nine straight shot, yeah. Yeah, very consistent today, so it was fun today.
Q. How hard is this golf course playing right now for you?
CHISATO IWAI: So windy. Yeah, today not too much, but affect on the green. Yeah, so difficult.
Q. How have you managed the heat?
CHISATO IWAI: Every hole umbrella. (Laughter.) Water.
Q. You had an eagle today.
CHISATO IWAI: Yes.
Q. Tell me about that golf shot.
CHISATO IWAI: It was so lucky. Maybe it was so strong shot, so hit the pin. But I had a good image and I played solid. Yes, good.
Q. And then have you ever been to Texas before and if not, besides Chevron, before this year had you ever been to this part of Texas?
CHISATO IWAI: First time.
Q. Do you like it?
CHISATO IWAI: Yes.
Q. Food good?
CHISATO IWAI: Yes.
