Yuna Nishimura's Round 1 Press Conference at KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
Q. All right,Yuna Nishimura is with us after her first round of the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Yuna, what are your thoughts on your 1-under opening round?
YUNA NISHIMURA: Yeah, I'm so happy to 71 as a first round of the major. I had few bad tee shot, but my putting was pretty good, so, yeah. It was good.
Q. Can you take us through the birdies and your best shots today?
YUNA NISHIMURA: The best shot?
Q. Your best shots today and the birdies. How were they? Talk about the birdies, what happened. Birdies and the best shots of the day.
YUNA NISHIMURA: Yeah, I had good start, two birdies, first hole and second hole, so that was so good.
Yeah, I got birdie on 6. That was also good. It was downwind and greens were firm, so that was pretty tough second shot. But, yeah, hit pretty well and putting was good, so, yeah, I'm happy with that.
Q. On the other hand, what was the toughest thing, the hardest thing today?
YUNA NISHIMURA: Yeah, wind was stronger than I thought, even it's morning, but (through translation) pretty much wind is the toughest part of day.
Q. The toughest part of playing this course today?
YUNA NISHIMURA: Yeah, the wind.
Q. You were fortunate you got to play when it was a little cooler. What do you think about tomorrow playing when it's going to be hotter in the afternoon?
YUNA NISHIMURA: Yeah, I think tomorrow it's going to be more hard, more wind I think. But, yeah, stay patient. That's my key.
