Bio
Thompson is an American professional golfer and major champion with 11 LPGA Tour wins. She turned professional in June 2010 at age 15 and became the youngest winner in LPGA Tour history at the time with her victory at the 2011 Navistar LPGA Classic.
She won her first and only major at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship. She has represented the United States in seven Solheim Cups (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024) and four International Crown events. Thompson is also a two-time Olympian, competing at the 2016 Rio Games (T19) and 2020 Tokyo Games (33rd).
In 2024, she announced her retirement from full-time LPGA competition after making 12 cuts in 18 starts and earning four top-10 finishes. Thompson has also earned several accolades, including 2017 Race to CME Globe, the Vare Trophy and the 2023 Founders Award.
As of the 2025 season, she has made three cuts in five starts, including two top-20 finishes.
