NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – The KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, an annual event that brings together women from industry and sport during the week of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, was held Wednesday. What made this year’s event particularly unique was that it was entirely virtual, a first for the event in its six-year history, due to COVID-19.

While the format was different this year, what remained the same were the messages of inspiration and support encouraging women to break their respective glass ceilings and aspire to greatness. Among this year’s speakers were the LPGA’s Mariah Stackhouse, Olympian Ibtihaj Muhammad and the 66th Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

Wednesday, broadcaster Robin Roberts shared her own message with the attendees: “No one can be you. Embrace it. Don’t run from it. Don’t be fearful that no one looks like you. Embrace it. That’s a good thing. The uniqueness is something we need to embrace.”

Roberts was recognized with this year’s KPMG Inspire Greatness Award, joining the likes of Mia Hamm, Annika Sorenstam, Ginni Rometty, Admiral Michelle Howard and Condoleezza Rice who were prior recipients of the award.
