It was a record-breaking 36 holes at Hazeltine.

South Korea's Ina Yoon tied for the lowest opening round (63) on Thursday and posted the lowest 36-hole score to par in the history of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship on Friday after a second-round 69.

Here are 5 [other] things to know heading into the weekend in Chaska, Minnesota.

The Cutline

Exactly 70 players made the cut at 1-over-par 145.

That included Nicole Felce, a member of the Corebridge Financial Team. The last time a member of the Corebridge Financial Team made the cut was at Hazeltine in 2019.

Felce is a PGA/LPGA Assistant Golf Professional at Countryside Country Club in Clearwater, Fla., and making her second start in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship following a 2025 debut at PGA Frisco.

Keeping it Close

In each of the last 13 years of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the eventual winner was either leading or within three shots of the lead at the conclusion of the second round.

In 12 of those 13 years, the winner was either 1st or 2nd after 36 holes. The exception was Ruoning Yin, who was in seventh place after 36 holes in 2023 — three shots back of the leader – at Baltusrol.

Nelly Lurking

Nelly Korda isn’t leading, but she’s definitely not out of it through 36 holes.

“I'm just going to focus on, as boring as it is, one shot at a time and see where that takes me. I know the winds will be higher this weekend so it's going to play probably a little bit more difficult and I'm sure that the pins will be tricked up.”

Her second round, 4-under par 68 puts her 6 strokes back of leader Ina Yoon.

“The front nine was great, shot 4-under, and then had a case of the hooks on a few of my tee shots on the back nine,” said Korda. “Figured it out going down the stretch, so pleased with my day.”

Haeran Ryu Goes VERY Low in Round 2

Haeran Ryu shot 64 (-8) on Friday — easily the best round of the day.

It’s the 4th time in her Major Championship career that Ryu shot the best score during a round, having matched the best round in the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA Championship (67 in Round 2), the 2025 Chevron Championship (65 in Round 1 and 68 in Round 3).

It was the first time that Ryu shot the outright best score of a Major Championship round.

A Rare Pair of Aces

Singapore’s Shannon Tan made a hole-in-one on the 4th hole on Friday after Amanda Doherty aced No. 17 yesterday in Round 1.

This is the first KPMG Women's PGA Championship with multiple aces since 2018, when both Lexi Thompson and Brittany Marchand had holes-in-one in the first round at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Illinois.

This is also the fourth event on the LPGA Tour this year in which there were multiple aces:

  • Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass (Jenny Bae, Nasa Hataoka)
  • Mizuho Americas Open (Saki Baba, Minami Katsu)
  • Meijer LPGA Classic by Simply Give (Minji Kang, Julia Lopez Ramirez)
