Wednesday at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, there was a building wave of excitement over this week’s launch of the KPMG Performance Insights, a new technology platform that will provide data insights and performance analytics for players on the LPGA Tour.

The Performance Insights will include categories such as strokes gained, proximity averages and performance indexing, something that will prove beneficial to more than just the LPGA competitors.

“The platform will change the way in which players, coaches, media and fans experience women’s golf,” said Paul Knopp, KPMG Chair and CEO. Added former World No. 1 Stacy Lewis, who is a KPMG ambassador, “Personally it's going to be great because I think it's going to help everybody get better across the board,” she said. “But I think our TV coverage is going to get so much better. There's going to be more to talk about. It's going to be more entertaining.

“There's going to be proof behind the numbers instead of just an announcer there saying that Inbee Park is the best putter in the world. We're going to have stats that show that she is literally the best putter in the world. … Everything on our tour is going to be better because of it. I really believe that.”
